2026 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration
Thursday, January 22nd in the Pigott Auditorium--In partnership with the campus community, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosts the University’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration to honor the legacy and wisdom we gather through the teachings of Martin Luther King, Jr.
This year, we are excited to welcome Harvard University’s Professor Randall Kennedy as this year’s Commemoration keynote speaker. The Keynote Address is on "Is it Worthwhile to Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day?”. Want to learn more? Click here.

Join SEAC at the Redhawk Games TONIGHT!
Thursday, January 8th in the Campion Ballroom--Join the Student Events and Activities Council (SEAC) at the Redhawk Games TONIGHT from 6-9pm in Campion Ballroom.
Spend the evening playing laser tag, giant Connect4, Battleship, and Axe Throwing all in the name of friendly competition. Monster and Pizza provided at the event so don't miss out on this opportunity to have fun with your fellow redhawks.

Last Chance to Hear Common Text Author Mónica Guzmán on Campus: Food, Drink, Conversation, Prizes
Wednesday, January 15th in Campion Ballroom--Join the First-Year Academic Engagement team to hear from Common Text Author, Mónica Guzmán. We encourage first-year students to attend, and welcome all other students, faculty, staff, and alumni whether you have read the Common Text I Never Thought of It That Way or not! Join us for a reception in Campion Ballroom from 3:30 - 4:30 pm, follow immediately by a panel discussion with Mónica and student, faculty, and staff representatives. Afterward there will be time to get your copy of the Common Text signed by the author herself!

January 12 - 16 via Zoom--Tutoring in select Biology, Chemistry, Chinese, French, Japanese, Math, Nursing, Physics, Psychology, and Spanish courses will be available for Winter Quarter 2026!
Learning Assistance Programs will run our Tutoring Needs Assessment Blitz January 12 - 16 via Zoom. The first step to schedule tutoring is to sign up for a Tutoring Needs Assessment via TracCloud - students will use their SU credentials to login and enter their info in the Schedule an Appointment box.

Apply for 2026-2027 CEJS Research Fellowship
Calling all SU students! One of the primary goals of the Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability (CEJS) is to support scholarship in environmental justice and sustainability endeavors. Each year, CEJS awards two student research fellowships with a $2,500 stipend per student project, and students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. Submit your proposal by March 2, 2026.
